I often wonder what my life will be like when I get "on in years". This came to mind the other day when I had to run an errand to one of the big box stores. The nice gentleman in the blue vest greeted me and gave me a cart. We exchanged greetings then Jeorge (so it said on his name tag) began to talk to me like we were long lost friends.
Now Jeorge is a well season gentleman it looks like he has seen more season changes than I. I listen politely as he ramble on about the latest going on's with the family and how the situation that was troubling the family had been settle in a amiable manner.
As Jeorge was finishing up his story he suddenly stop and looked at me with that "deer in the head lights" look. He drew quiet for a second or two then apologize he thought I was an old family friend.
"Funny," he muse, "the old brain is getting a little fuzzy." I padded him on the hand that was resting on my cart and told him it was ok "After all you have a lot of memories crowding around up there."
Then as I was shopping for the baby shower gift I had come in for I realized from the time we are born we start cramming a lot of memories in our hearts and brains. I hope I never lose my memories........
